READING. RANTING. RAVING.
“I have lived a thousand lives and I’ve loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.”

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back." Start Date : August 3, 2016 End Date : August 10, 2016 Actual Rating : 4.3 / 5 After defeating Amarantha and becoming a faerie, she feels lost and does not know herself. She cannot accept all the things she have done Under The Mountain. She still fears the dark and has not fully adjusted to her new body. Although she seems she have everything, wealth, health, love and peace... she is troubled and has feels a gaping hole in herself. I am a fan of Sarah J. Maas. Although I prefer the Throne of Glass series more, this book endeared me to the series more. During the visit of SJM to the Philippines last March, she alteady revealed that this is a retelling of the story of Persephone. I adore Greek mythology so I was excited. The beginning of this book was really hard for me. Feyre started of being a spineless and unlikable which is compared to her personality on the previous book. Thanks to my friends' (@Lei_Reads and @AprilDGarcia) encouragement, I plunged on the book and it got way better.
During the first book, I love Feyre but I didn't like her pairing woth Tamlin. Although Tamlin was quite sweet and conscentious while courting Feyre, it always seemed off to me. I was not a fan of Rhyland either.... until this book. If you have read the Throne Of Glass series, you would have noticed that Celeana had her court. A group of friends that she can rely on (even if she keeps most of her plans to close to her heart). I was pleasantly surprised to find Rhyland has his own court. These characters are headstrong and the females of the group (Morgan and Amren). These females hold their own and yet still has the emotional sensitivity to know how to help piece Feyre together. This book explains some points on the ACOTAR which made me fall in love with Rhyland. This book shows how a man should treat a woman. By treating her as an equal and listening to her needs. This was a long long story of re-building ones life after a great tragedy. This is also one steamy book. I was really baffled while reading this as to why there are such scenes on the book. I was discussing this with some friends after reading and that was when I found out that this was no longer a YA. The end of the book was a real cliffhanger. With Feyre sisters being also transformed into faerie and her being back with Tamlin, I really am excited for the next book.
