READING. RANTING. RAVING.
“I have lived a thousand lives and I’ve loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.”

"There is nothing on this Earth that can make you feel as invincible or as vulnerable as love can" Start Date : October 3, 2016 End Date: October 3, 2016 Actual Rating : 4.5/5 *** I was given a given this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Tegan is a romantic and loves her family fiercely, but does not believe in finding love for herself. She helps her family run their home-converted-getaway. She has sacrificed much for their home but she wouldn't have it any other way. That summer everything in her world changed with the coming of a VIP guest. With this guest, Tegan's world become chaotic but with it brings new life and color into her. The writer is also a musician and it can be seen on the lyrics of the songs on that is on the book. I guess, being a musician also helped in creating the flow of the words and the story. Reading this book is really effortless. There are no scenes on the story that is cringe worthy or made me want to drop the book and stop reading it. On the contrary, because of the easy and relaxing flow of the story, it just wanted me to keep on reading. Starting from the first pages, the main character, Tegan, was lovable and relatable. She has that girl-next-door vibe, the one girl in school that is not a member of the "in" crowd yet is popular and more importantly everybody loves. The other characters in the book are endearing as well. The helped in showing more fully the nature of Tegan and helped in understanding her too. Having chosen a large country estate as the backdrop of the story has given this book a depth of dreamlike quality. The gardens, the dune and other places on the estate were described vividly that I was starting to wish the place is real and thinking if I could visit it. The main issue I had with the story is that there was no big conflict or villain that you could hate. Yes there was Cole and Madison, but they were more of a nuisance than villains. Like a speed bump rather than a road block. All the struggle was internal, which is nice but an additional external hurdle might have been nice. Another thing is that it wasn't able to induce the big emotions, although they were a lot of heart touching moments... only the ending was able to pull a big enough emotion from me that I started tearing up. Another reason I gave a high rating for this book are the songs and letters. The letters were worded so beatifully that I wish people still sends handwritten letters. The songs lyrics were also beautiful but I know I didn't do it justice by just reading it. Solution, YOUTUBE. You can see my favorite song (The Kiss) from the book on the video below. The songs on the book is there. So it was a new bookreading experience for me to read along with the song... or just listen to the song then continue with the book. So for those interested with a feel-good-quick-read-romantic story... this is for you. Thank you again to Dallas Coryell for giving me the opportunity of reviewing his book as well as providing the quote highlighted above.
